Expert Meetings on Personality Psychology

The European Association of Personality Psychology encourages the organization of small scientific meetings of experts in the area of personality research. EAPP will financially support one meeting a year, although the Executive Committee (EC) of the association will exercise discretion on this rule. Expert meeting will be funded with a maximum of € 8000.

Applications for a grant will be reviewed and a final decision will be made at the next EC meeting. In even-numbered years applications should be sent to the EAPP secretary by the 31th of January, in odd-numbered years by the 31th of October.

Expert Meeting «Personality and Culture»

Date: September 29 - October 1, 2010
Venue: University of Lausanne, Switzerland

Purpose of meeting: The proposed expert meeting aims to bring together 20-25 researchers in the field of personality psychology who are interested in cultural differences along with experts from other disciplines such as anthropology, cross-cultural psychology, and quantitative social sciences. The aim of the meeting is to discuss the state-of-art and the future research directions in the area of personality and culture studies in the context of different models of culture and various multi-level research strategies.

Costs: There is no participation fee. Participants of the meeting will be offered complementary refreshments, lunch, and dinner on the days of the meeting. Funding for transportation and accommodation will not be provided.

Abstracts: If you wish to participate and present a paper at the expert meeting, please send an abstract to Anu Realo ( anu.realo@ut.ee) by April 30, 2010, at the latest. Abstracts should be no more than 400 words in length. All proposals will be assessed by the organizers of the meeting on academic merit and relevance to the meeting themes. You will be notified of acceptance of your proposal by May 15, 2010.
